Incase you haven’t heard – the humble little city of London is hosting the 2012 Games. Now, you may me wondering why we’re telling you this little piece of trivia.
Well, JVN has exciting news. You have the opportunity to play a major part in the Olympic Games. Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, is looking for 8,000 London Ambassadors to welcome visitors to the capital during the Games, and help them get the most out of their visit. Our Mayor is on the lookout for volunteers with fantastic people skills to be the face of London, who are passionate about the capital and want to tell millions of people about the hidden treasures that makes London one of the best capital cities in the world.
London Ambassadors will provide a personalised, passionate and knowledgeable welcome and information service to visitors, as well as supporting the needs of residents going about their daily business.
To be a London Ambassador you’ll need to commit to six consecutive days of volunteering between 20 July and 10 September 2012.
Each daily shift will last for five hours. In return, you’ll receive:
· Fantastic training to make sure you’re ready to welcome the world to London.
· Free travel within zones 1-6 for each day you volunteer
· Food and refreshments during your shift (£5 per day)
· A uniform that you can keep
· A mobile device to help you while you’re volunteering
If you think you’d make a great London Ambassadors, complete the online registration form by 31st December 2010. The form only takes ten minutes to complete. So go on, do us proud! And of course…have fun while you’re at it!
Note: If you live in the Borough of Brent, if you have any questions you can contact advisor Rasila Patel at Brent Volunteer Centre by calling 020 8438 1520 or via email at rasila.patel@brava.or.uk

Go London!!! Can’t wait for all the buzz to hit town. But to think I can be apart of it? Maybe!! Thanks for the heads up
ps. we love you Boris!

(yes, yes – not that one should volunteer for the goodies, but hey, they look great!)
