I am absolutely delighted to be writing about some great news we just heard last week that JVN has been shortlisted in the extremely prestigious Charity Times Awards in the category of Charity of the Year: with an income of less than £1million.
Charity Times is the leading magazine in the not-for-profit sector in terms of charity management and business and the Award is given to really stringent criteria: “Awarded to the organisation that the judges believe has consistently delivered outstanding service to its beneficiaries, promoted and raised its cause, been clear in its goals and strategy, and demonstrated excellence all round, especially within the last year.”
Hopefully it will be us on the night, but to be considered in that way is just fantastic and, to use an Australianism, the whole team are just stoked to see their hard work recognised and considered to be of the highest level.
Whether it’s our interns, Es our Regional Development Manager, our Operations Joanne (who I’ll finally be introducing you to and who has been beavering away behind the scenes), Susan, our indefatigable Chairman or Judy our Special Projects Coordinator (more of her soon!), the whole team works tirelessly hard to support Jewish volunteering in schools, Jewish charities, universities across the UK, reaching out into the interfaith and wider community.
But there’s so much more we could be doing and of course, next year, we would love to be in the next category up: Charity of the Year: with an income of more than £1million.

At this time last year we had around 150 charities finding their volunteers through us. Now it’s nearly 250. With your help we might make it 350 by next year…
